Reproduction of a gas detection brassard
Gas brassards were issued to both infantry and paratroopers to detect chemical agents, such as mustard gas. On contact with poison gas, the impregnated paper would turn pink or red. They are worn on the arm of the outer garment, the canvas loop is fastened on the epaulette.
